Professional Teaching Standards at Childcare Portfolio
I took today to look over the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. I cogitated over Standard 1 (Know children and how they learn) and Standard 6 (Engage in professional learning). I found out learning styles of individual children and spoke with my mentor about how she deals with these differences by using various instructions. My reflective journal entries were also given feedback to enable me to practice better.

Demonstrating Professional Teaching Standards
These are the core teaching standards that are integral to my childcare practice. I aim to consistently demonstrate these standards in my daily interactions and planning, ensuring a positive impact on each child's development.

Collecting and Organising Evidence
In my placement, I was made to understand the essence of gathering and collecting evidence in order to facilitate the learning of children, monitor progress and inform future planning. The process assists in making sure that the development of each and every child is recognised, appreciated and well supported (AITSL, 2011).
Observations
To gather valid evidence of child learning, I monitor them regularly through play and regular activities. I observe important behaviors, interactions, interests, and points of development. Illustratively, I identified a child who demonstrated problem-solving skills when it was time to build blocks and recorded it in order to capture his/her progress under EYLF Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners (Department of Education, 2022). Photographs and Learning stories
My writing of learning stories incorporates photographic and textual documents relating to the learning experience and refers back to developmental domain and the EYLF learning outcomes. Such stories give valuable information on the learning process of the child and make them aware of what went on in the service to families of the child.

Challenges and Strategies
Challenge: Interpreting and Implementing of the EYLF and NQS
When I was a student, I was not able to easily associate my observations and activities with the learning outcomes and quality standards.
Strategy: I requested feedback by experienced teachers and I trained myself to connect what I saw and EYLF outcomes. I also consulted illustrative charts and guides through which the learning outcomes and elements of NQS were simplified.

My Unique Approach
My approach to meeting teaching standards is unique due to my focus on incorporating innovative teaching methods, strong emphasis on inclusive practices. This distinctive approach ensures that each child receives tailored support and opportunities to thrive.
